New Books

Below are some awesome new books! As always with new books, if they aren't checked out or on the shelf when you look using their call number, they will be on the "Children's New Books" display. (Look for them below the orange sign hanging from the ceiling!)

E GWYNNE
Ruby learns to swim by: Phillip Gwynne
Simple and well-told story about a girl learning how to swim.

E STAAKE
Bluebird  by: Bob Staake
A lonely boy makes friends with a wild bird, who eventually helps him when he is bullied by other kids. Sad at times, but has a happy ending. It has wonderful illustrations and no words! The illustrations tell the story.

E YERKES
A Funny Little Bird by: Jennifer Yerkes
A lonely and invisible bird wears brightly-colored feathers and flowers to try to make friends, but ends up learning a simple lesson about friendship in the end!

ER WILLEMS
A Big Guy Took My Ball! by: Mo Willems
Piggie is sad because a big whale took a ball she found, but Gerald the Elephant helps her find out why the whale took it. The answer will surprise kids and help them learn about why we shouldn't judge others.

E RASCHKA
Everyone Can Learn to Ride a Bicycle by: Chris Raschka
Like Ruby Learns to Swim, this is a great and staight-forward story, but instead of about learning how to swim, it's about learning how to ride a bike.
