Making Friends and Being a Good Friend

Books about friendship and making friends are one of our favorite book subjects here in the Children’s Department.  They’re always relatable and teach you how to both be a friend and make new friends, a useful skill for kids.  Here’s just a few we have. As always, stop by and ask us if you’d like more options.

Jim is worried he won’t make a friend on his first day of school. Turns out, he’s worried for no reason because a boy named Paul might be just the new friend for him!

A cat decides to be a good friend to the fish Bubble by freeing him from his fish bowl!

A story about how an apple named Mac and a worm named Will become friends.

Grace loves her dog Fred so much that she doesn’t want to share him with anyone, but then she realizes that being a good friend means sharing your friend with others, too!

A book about how having good manners is an important part of making and staying a good friend.
